I recently wrote over at Cal Teacher Blog about allowing students to redo their work. This video clip from one of my all-time top 5 favorite movies of all-time, "A River Runs Through It," is part of my inspiration for teaching, and for life. Rev. Maclean is a Confident Teacher indeed.

I always tell my students that they are my little birdies and that they have to listen to me and work with me when we're learning something new and if they do that well, they can spend the rest of the class period flying free. Nothing gives me greater joy than to let them learn and experience things on their own the way that they naturally learn and experience them.
